A product of RCD Espanyol’s youth system, Albert Serran appeared in three La Liga games with the Barcelona-based team before making the move to Swansea City in the Football League in 2008. Despite offers to turn out for FC Barcelona as youngster, Serran chose to remain in a side where he would get regular game time. Under Brendan Rodgers, Serran featured in a Swans’ side that was promoted to the Premier League in 2012, but chose to move away to Cyprus, where he turned out for AEK Larnaca FC. After stints in Albania and Morocco, Serran signed with Bengaluru FC during the club’s pre-season tour to Spain in 2017. Forging a partnership with Juanan, the defender was instrumental in the club’s Indian Super League winning season.
