Satendra and Thoi Strikes Help Bengaluru Come From Behind To Post 2-1 Win in Kochi

Kochi: Bengaluru FC wrapped up their 2023 2nd Division League campaign with a 2-1 triumph against Golden Threads FC, at the Panampilly Nagar Ground, in Kochi, on Monday. The Blue Colts came from 1-0 down to bag all three points, thanks to strikes from Satendra Singh (35’) and Thoi Singh (67’). 

Ahead of the game, Bengaluru Head Coach Kaizad Ambapardiwala made two changes to the eleven from last week’s fixture against FC Bengaluru United, as Fredy Chawngthansanga and Satendra replaced the duo of Lalhmingchhuanga and Ashish Jha in the lineup. 

After Samuel Geevarghese’s side took the lead in the 25th minute, Satendra ensured their lead didn’t stay for long, with the forward scoring his fourth goal of the League campaign past the half hour mark to level the proceedings for Bengaluru. 

The two teams continued to push and prod in their quest for a lead and it was the Blue Colts who eventually found the winner, courtesy of Thoi Singh in the 67th minute. Despite Golden Threads’ attempts to get something out of the game, Bengaluru denied them any further chances in the game to equalize and as a result, finished their campaign on a positive note. 

The Blue Colts finished their campaign in third place in Group C, with 11 points gained from their eight games; leaving them a point behind Monday’s opponents.
