Bengaluru FC U15s Bow Out Of KSFA ‘C’ Division League Despite Unbeaten Run
Bengaluru FC’s U15s bowed out of the KSFA ‘C’ Division League following a 0-0 draw against Pioneers FC, at the Bangalore Football Stadium, in Bengaluru, on Wednesday. The result left the Young Blues in second place on the table, behind Pioneers on goal difference with both sides notching up 13 points from five games.
The Young Blues resisted early pressure, with Pioneers choosing to shoot from distance for the majority of the opening stages. Rajan Mani’s side made inroads through Lalpekhlua and Basudev but saw their efforts comfortably saved by Dibin in the Pioneers goal.
Pioneers had their best chance of the half five minutes from the break when Sundharashan Senthilkumar nodded a cross from Jerome Marshal goalward, only to be met by a strong hand from BFC custodian Atul Raj. Only moments later, Newton Singh broke free down the flank but his effort from a tight angle was met by Dibin in what would also be the final action of the first half.
Into the second period, Pioneers began the stronger of the two sides once again but the Young Blues did well to hold off the University team. Mani rang in a change ten minutes into the second half as Cyrus Abhilash replaced Puinachandra Kangjam.
Athul was called into action once again as a strike from Dinesh S needed attention with 45 minutes on the clock. Into the final quarter, BFC Soccer Schools graduate Aarav Gharat came off the bench to add impetus to the Bengaluru attack, replacing Nithish J.
The Young Blues came under pressure once again when Vasanth’s effort cannoned off the crossbar and back into play, only for Samikaran Mukhia to blaze the rebound over. Bengaluru continued to attack until the final whistle with their hopes resting on a win, but it wasn’t to be as Pioneers held on to the point, and a top of the table finish.
The result meant an unbeaten campaign for the Young Blues, with four wins and one draw, in their debut appearance in the KSFA ‘C’ Division League.
