Lalpekhlua, Sparsh On Target For Young Blues Against RoundGlass Punjab FC In Bellary

Bengaluru FC ended the U15 JSW Youth Cup League Stage with a big win over RoundGlass Punjab FC, in Bellary. First-half goals from Lalpekhlua (12’) and Sparsh Desai (38’) were enough to cancel out Ngamchinlen Kilong’s (20’) strike. Sports Odisha, BFC, RPFC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs book a spot in the semifinals after the final day results.

Bengaluru started the game on the front foot and took just 12 minutes to score. Lalpekhlua was brought down in the box before being awarded a penalty, the forward stepped up and continued his fine goal-scoring form with a powerful shot from the spot that flew beyond Jaskaran Dub in goal.

The celebrations were cut short moments later when Kilong equalized for RoundGlass Punjab FC, the forward was put through on goal with a smart pass from the outside of the boot. The forward kept his composure in the one-on-one situation and slotted it beyond Atul in goal to make it 1-1.

Bengaluru were keen to take the lead back and did so in the 38th minute. The BFC U15 Boys won a corner and the delivery was perfect and found Sparsh unmarked in the 18-yard-box, the forward took a touch before placing the ball with power and finding the back of the net.

Into the second half, the Young Blues and Punjab battled it out in midfield and created a bunch of half-chances but failed to score. The goalkeepers were in top form and denied everything that came their way.

This result means that Bengaluru FC finished second on the table behind Sports Odisha FC. Our Young Blues next face RoundGlass Punjab FC in the semifinal, while Reliance Foundation will take on Odisha.
