Interim Coach Naushad Moosa Spoke To Us After The Blues’ Defeat To Jamshedpur FC, The Performance Of The Youngsters, The Way Forward And More…
On the team and game against Jamshedpur…
The idea was to give the younger players some game time, though things didn’t work out the way we expected in terms of the way the match went. We let in three goals in the first half and that’s what led to changes in the second half, after which I was sure we would get the required goals.
At half-time it was about believing in everybody and in each other, and we were almost there at the end. We got the first, added a second and Sunil’s header was saved late in the game apart from two other good chances.
On Dimas wearing the captain’s armband…
Dimas (Delgado) had left for home earlier in the season, while we didn’t give an explanation then, the truth is that his father had passed away. We have a lot of respect for him and he also had the courage to come back because he wanted to finish the league with us. Which is why Sunil (Chhetri) gave him the armband.
On the performance of the youngsters…
When (Naorem) Roshan came in, he was spot on and did really well apart from the one foul that led to the goal. In the first half with the goals their morale went down a little but they regrouped in the second half. They have talent and it is just that they (should) believe (in) themselves going forward.
The training sessions are being recorded daily and Marco (Pezzaiuoli) is watching them, he knows the kind of youngsters we have in our squad and he is very impressed by the way they are performing.
