Blue Colts Down Ozone FC 1-0 To Seal Top Spot In Chennai-Bengaluru Group

Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC sealed a top-place finish in the Chennai-Bengaluru Group of the Hero Elite League after a 1-0 win over Ozone FC in their penultimate zonal phase clash at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, on Saturday. Striker Akashdeep Singh (10th) scored the only goal of the game via the penalty spot early on in the first half as the Blue Colts qualified for the final phase of the competition.

The win was Bengaluru FC’s tenth of the campaign as they took their tally beyond the 30-point mark (31 points), effectively sealing their top spot ahead of second placed Raman Vijayan Soccer School (21 pts, 9 games) in the Chennai-Bengaluru Group. Naushad Moosa’s boys are still unbeaten in the campaign stretching the run to eleven games.

Up next, the Blue Colts travel to Chennai to face Chennaiyin FC in their final game on February 16th.


Young Blues continue winning run; down FA Bangalore 6-1 in Sub-Junior League

Bellary: Bengaluru FC continued their impressive winning streak in the Hero Sub-Junior League beating Football Academy of Bangalore 6-1 in a dominant show at the Vidyanagar Township in Bellary, on Saturday.

Attacker Yaiphathoi Magsatabam (5’, 37’ 45’) and skipper Gogocha Chungkham (10’, 17’, 59’) both netted hat-tricks while Albert Athokpam (30’) scored the only goal for the visitors.

The win was the Young Blues’ fifth on the trot and took their tally to 15 points as they sit comfortably atop Group A in the Bengaluru zone.

Ajay Chorge’s boys will now host Roots Football School on February 23rd in Bellary.
