Young Blues Down Roots Football School 5-2 For Sixth Successive Win

Bellary: Bengaluru FC sealed progression to the final phase of the Hero Sub-Junior League after a dominant 5-2 win over Roots Football School in a sixth-round encounter at the Vidyanagar Township in Bellary on Sunday.

The Young Blues joined their compatriots from the BFC Academy as the Blues have now made it to the final phase in all three categories of the AIFF Youth Leagues, including the Junior and Elite League. Currently, Ajay Chorge’s boys are on 18 points from six games with a 100% record atop Group-A in the Bengaluru Zone.

In their penultimate home game, it was striker Ryan Gibbs Kharnaior (6’, 17’, 47’, 49’) who netted four times for the Young Blues while skipper Yaiphathoi Magsatabam (65’) added a fifth in the final five minutes of the game. Meanwhile, substitute Aryan Bharadwaj (33’, 60’) netted a brace for the visitors.

Bengaluru FC will now face Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools in their next group stage game at the HAL Ground on March 1.
