Bengaluru: Akashdeep Singh scored a hat-trick (45’, 49’, 62’) and was joined on the scoresheet by Sridarth Nongmeikapam (19’), Lalthangliana (36’), Ratanbi Singh (54’) and Mohammad Rafi (74’) as Naushad Moosa’s Bengaluru FC U18s claimed a massive 7-0 win over Boca Juniors Football Schools in the Hero Elite League, at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, on Wednesday.

A cagey affair came to life in the 19th minute when Sridarth made his way into the box and tipped a cross from Johnson Singh past the Boca custodian. Lalthangliana then doubled the lead just past the half hour mark with an effort from distance that fizzed into the top corner. Akashdeep’s first came just shy of the half-time whistle when he poked home a cross from Jagdeep Singh to make it 3-0.

Bengaluru came out all guns blazing in the second half and added four more as Akashdeep completed his hat-trick with strikes on either side of a goal from defender Ratanbi Singh. Substitute Rafi got in on the act with fifteen minutes left to play, scoring from a set-piece situation to round up the scores.

The win took the Blue Colts’ tally to 25 points from nine games, 10 more than Raman Vijayan Soccer Schools. Bengaluru FC next face FC Madras in Chennai on February 3rd.
