‘If we keep working hard, the win will come’

The Boss Spoke About The Blues’ Third Draw On The Trot And The Need To Keep Working Hard For Positive Results…

On Sunday’s draw against Jamshedpur…

We have drawn three games because we have played against three very good opponents. The other teams play with a good plan and their players work hard to get that result. Honestly, I think that the game against Jamshedpur was the only one that the game was not very clear for us, either team could have won it. In most cases like these, it’s the team that scores first who gets the advantage. But I’m very happy with our tactics and we did well to stop the opponent and we created some very clear chances.

We have to keep working, it’s the only way. We are only two points away from the top four at this stage and it’s completely normal that you might not win every time you play. The feeling in the locker room is that we have to start winning. But we have to keep working hard. We’re on the right path, and if we keep working like this, we will get the victory eventually. I think that after three games, we should have at least seven points given our performances or maybe five. Three points does not justify our performances, but we can only keep working hard and improving.

On the injury to Albert Serran…

Alberto played last week in the second half against Goa and he had been training normally. Today’s injury wasn’t the one that kept him out earlier, it was a different muscle and things like these happen sometimes. When you are not used to playing 90 minutes, you put a lot of effort and he was a bit unlucky to get injured. But I really need him back because I have Erik injured, and we only have six foreigners. I wanted to start this game with five foreigners, and he was one hundred percent at the beginning. It’s unfortunate, but we will assess him and hopefully it isn’t anything serious.

On his side’s goalscoring prowess…

We will keep creating chances and one day they will find the net, you know! When you lose crucial players, it affects the final result. But its normal and happens all over the world, in any league and in any club. For example, have a look at Real Madrid; after Cristiano Ronaldo left, they struggled for goals. It happens in football, and we keep working hard to get those goals.

The good thing is that in these three games, we have created enough chances. In the end, numbers are just numbers and I read somewhere that in the first two games, we had only a few shots on target. But I look at it in terms of the options we create for the last pass. It might not count in the statistics, but it’s very important to consider that as well. In the first half there was a pass from Manuel to Sunil, if it would have gone through, we would’ve created a good chance. The numbers sometimes lie and don’t give you the correct picture.

What I am happy about is that we have been putting in serious performances and battling with a lot of heart. Because of the schedule, we’ve faced three very good teams so we have to keep our heads down and keep fighting. We can’t allow the pressure to get to us, because if we keep working hard, the win will come.
