Naushad Moosa’s Men Build On Good Form As Parag, Ajay, Advaith Strike In Victory
Bengaluru: In what was an intense game at the Bangalore Football Stadium, Bengaluru FC kept their composure to seal a dominant 3-0 win over Kickstart FC their fourth-round encounter of the BDFA Super Division League, on Saturday. Goals from Parag Shrivas (18’), Ajay Chhetri (57’) and Advaith Shinde (90’) handed Blue Colts their third win of the campaign as they took their tally to 9 points from four games.
While the entire game was played at a high-tempo, it was Bengaluru who broke the deadlock in the 18th minute. Parag, playing at left-back, headed home Leon Augustine’s cross in from the right at the far post after Asheer Akhtar’s initial header on the corner was punched out by rival custodian Rashid which fell for Leon.
Despite constant attacks from Kickstart, Bengaluru managed to hold firm at the back and twelve minutes into the second half, Ajay doubled the lead. A breakaway move from the Blue Colts saw Edmund Lalrindika set up Ajay on the right who finished at the far post with a low drive past the rival goalkeeper.
Bengaluru then had back-to-back chances to further increase their lead minutes past the hour mark, with winger Naorem Roshan Singh getting past defenders on the left and cutting it back from the byline. However, both Ajay and Edmund failed to find the target despite being in space.
The Blue Colts’ resolve paid off in the 90th minute as substitute Advaith, on for Ajay, finished off Lalnuntluanga’s through ball from close range to seal the 3-0 victory.
Bengaluru now play against Ozone FC on Tuesday, November 27.
