Bengaluru FC down ADE 2-0

Altamash’s Brace Helps Blue Colts Log Eighth Win Of The Campaign

Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC clinched their seventh successive win as they overcame ADE 2-0 in a Round-9 BDFA Super Division League encounter at the Bangalore Football Stadium, in Bengaluru, on Friday. A brace from playmaker Altamash Sayed (21’, 48’) handed Naushad Moosa’s men their eighth overall win of the campaign as they further increased their lead at the top of the standings with 24 points.

After some early chances, the Blue Colts opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Altamash found the back of the net from distance. Collecting a pass down the middle the playmaker unleashed an unstoppable shot from 30-yards out straight into the top-right corner with ADE ’keeper Mark Anthony just a spectator.

Bengaluru kept the pressure and created multiple chances throughout the first half, but the rival custodian was at his best pulling off save after save. After denying Lalnuntluanga and Naorem Roshan Singh on multiple occasions, Mark produced another save to deny Myron Mendes in what was the closest move. A corner played back found Namgyal Bhutia on the right whose whip from the flank found Myron in the box. The midfielder outjumped his marker to send his header on target only for Mark to somehow palm it over.

Having been denied the second goal multiple times in the first half, the Blue Colts finally doubled their advantage immediately in the second when Altamash completed his brace in the 48th minute. Midfielder Lalengzama Vangchhia made a run on the left and cut it back to find Altamash on the edge of the box and the latter finished it off with a first-time finish.

Moosa’s boys dominated much of the proceedings thereafter to seal a comfortable 2-0 win. The Blue Colts now take on FC Bengaluru United on Monday, December 17.
