“We will never surrender, we are Bengaluru FC”

Coach Albert Roca Said His Side Will Fight Until The Very End, Following Their Goalless Draw Against Mumbai FC At The Cooperage…

On the Blues’ performance…

We are frustrated and I could see that the dressing room made it look like we had lost the game, which is not the case. I think we played well again and I have nothing to complain about.

We were just unlucky because we had control of the game and created more and better opportunities than Mumbai. But football is like that sometimes, you create many chances but the goals refuse to come.

On his side’s run of form…

It’s not a good string of results but after the two losses against Churchill and East Bengal, I think we’ve done well. Against Aizawl and Minerva it was the same performance and I cannot complain. We have to keep working hard to make sure that we are doing a little better in each game.

On the Blues’ League chase…

It is difficult to say anything at this moment. I am very proud of my team because even after a few tough results and draws, the intention has always been to go on and win the game. We will never surrender because we are Bengaluru FC and we will try until the last game of the season.

It will be difficult because it doesn’t depend on us anymore. But I have full faith in these boys because I’m sure we can progress and do well as a side. We’ve controlled games and created more chances but sometimes the ball has to go into the net; that’s the most simple yet most difficult thing in football.

On the Blues’ attacking department…

Sunil has had the best chance to score against Mumbai. He’s a brave player and a good captain. He supports the others. Daniel is a young boy; he has to develop and has lots of time on his hands to do so. Vineeth as well, is someone who scored well at the start of the season and I’m sure he will score again and help us.

On a possible shift in the Blues’ gameplan…

It’s not a problem of strategy or tactics because as you can see we’ve had the chances. One of our chances was cleared off the line. I thought we would have a few more chances in extra time but we were allowed only three minutes. It’s unacceptable because we went out there to win the game, and despite there being so much wastage of time when the ball was out of play, only three minutes added on.

On Amrinder Singh’s injury…

We have to check the extent of Amrinder’s injury. It’s a shame because we’ve had problems in defence and he will be a miss in the coming games. We do not have our second choice ’keeper either because Lalthuammawia Ralte is also injured but Arindam is a good goalkeeper and I have full faith in his abilities.
