Blue Colts notch exciting 3-2 win over Ozone FC

Aaron Strikes Second Treble; BFC Move Up To Second In Standings

Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC made it three wins on the trot after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ozone FC in their third-round U13 Youth League encounter at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Saturday. The result pushed the Blue Colts up to second in the Bengaluru Zone standings with 9 points, six behind leaders Roots Football School, with two games in hand.

In an even contested game, it was striker Aaron Joshua who gave Bengaluru FC the lead in the 20th minute, before Kaustubh Ravindra (25th) pulled hosts Ozone FC level.  Aaron struck once again in the 28th minute as the Blue Colts took a 2-1 lead into the breather.

The second half saw both sides playing attacking football and it was the hosts who managed to level scores when Vignesh R. netted in the 53rd minute. While Ozone FC pushed up, the Blue Colts split the hosts’ defense once again in the 61st minute as Aaron completed his hattrick and put Bengaluru FC in the lead for the third time in the game. The final ten minutes of the clash, saw both sides creating multiple chances, but it was BFC who managed to hold on and seal a well-deserved win.

Speaking on his team’s performance, BFC U13 Coach Rajan Mani said, “We prepared well for this game, as we knew it was going to be a tough one. We changed the plan in the second half to counter their long balls and managed to create opportunities where we scored the goals.”
