Naushad Moosa’s Boys Keen To Increase Lead At The Summit
Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC will be eager to get back to winning ways when they host Ahmedabad-based ARA FC in a Round-6 encounter in the Hero 2nd Division League at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, on Wednesday.
The Blue Colts who are atop the standings in Group A with 13 points are still unbeaten after five rounds. Despite the goalless draw against LoneStar Kashmir last week at home where they dropped points for the first time this season, BFC B Coach Naushad Moosa believes that games like these will make the team stronger.
“We had a lot to learn from the last game. For the players, they learned not to get casual against any opponent and basically the importance of sticking to our game plan and philosophy. We created many scoring opportunities in first half, but were not able convert our dominance. In important games like these, we cannot miss any scoring opportunities. We have been working on our weaknesses in the last few training sessions and hope for a better show against ARA,” said Moosa on the eve of the game.
The visitors ARA FC began their campaign brightly with a win over Hindustan FC before suffering back to back losses against the Blue Colts and Lonestar Kashmir. However back-to-back wins over Hindustan and FC Goa Reserves means they are now in second place in the standings with nine points, six behind the Blue Colts.
“ARA FC come into the game with two successive wins. They will be confident and I don’t expect it to be an easy game. They have improved since we last played them in the opening game. The boys know the importance of the game given the fact that we lost a bit of our momentum due the long break that preceded the clash against LoneStar Kashmir,” added Moosa.
On the team news front, the Blue Colts are boosted by the return of midfielder Biswa Darjee who missed the last game due to a suspension. Emanuel Lalchhanchhuaha continues to be out due to injury but the rest of the team will be available for selection.
The game kicks off at 3.30 pm at the Bengaluru Football Stadium tomorrow.
