Vinith, Aditya Strike As BFC Cement Top Spot In Bengaluru Zone
Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC extended their perfect start to the campaign to four games as they beat Raman Sports Academy 2-0 in a closely fought encounter in the Hero Sub-Junior League at the Centre for Sports Excellence in Yelahanka, on Tuesday.
The fourth successive win powered by goals from Vinith Venkatesh (25’) and Aditya Kalasur (70+1’), was also the third on the trot away from home for the Young Blues who took their tally to 12 points as they maintain pole position in Group B of the Bengaluru Zone.
In an end-to-end affair, it was midfielder Vinith who broke the deadlock in the 25th minute in typical BFC fashion through a well-rehearsed set-piece. The Baldwin Boys High School’s student struck by lobbing rival custodian Arnav Sharma after skipper Gautam Rajesh did well to track his intelligent run and find him with a delicate chip over the wall on a freekick.
Raman Sports Academy managed to build some pressure with the game only having one goal in it till the very final minutes. However, Rajan Mani’s boys sealed full points in the first minute of injury time at the end of the second half when medio Kalasur slotted home from close after he was sent through on goal by striker Ishaan Raghunanda on a counter attack.
Bengaluru FC will next play Boca Juniors Football School at the Bangalore Football Stadium on March 16.
