Bengaluru FC U15s reclaim top spot with 2-0 win over Raman Sports Academy

Manish, Lalthangliana Strike As Young Blues Make It Four Wins In A Row

Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC made it four wins in as many games as they defeated Raman Sports Academy 2-0 in their first away encounter of the Hero Junior League at the Centre for Sports Excellence in Yelahanka, on Sunday.

First-half strikes from Manish Chaudhary (17’) and Lalthangliana (43’) handed Ajay Chorge’s boys all three points in this Round Four clash as the Young Blues reclaimed their top spot in Group A of the Bengaluru Zone with 12 points, toppling Raman SA (10 points) who dropped down to second despite playing two more games.

In what was another dominant performance, the Young Blues opened scoring in the 17th minute when Lalthangliana’s cross in from the right was headed out by a defender and fell for Manish Chaudhary just outside the box. The defender controlled it before smashing it into the far corner.

The visitors kept pushing ahead and doubled their lead minutes before the breather. Lastborn Mawphniang found Sonminthang Haokip on the right and the striker made a darting run down the flank before cutting it back to Lalthangliana who produced a brilliant first touch before slotting home at the bottom-left corner. The youngster controlled majority of the proceedings in the second half as they comfortably sealed a 2-0 win.

Bengaluru FC now face Sporthood FC at the same venue on April 24.
