BFC U18s maintain perfect record, beat Ananthapur Sports Academy

Akashdeep Double Gives Blue Colts 4-0 Win In Andhra Pradesh; Fourth Win On The Trot

Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh: Bengaluru FC maintained their perfect record in the U18 Youth League with a 4-0 win over Ananthapur Sports Academy at the Ananthapur Sports Village, in Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday. The win was the Blue Colts fourth on the trot as they cemented top spot in the Karnataka-Andhra Zone with 12 points from four games.

The win was powered by striker Akashdeep Singh’s double (11’, 55’) along with goals from skipper Lalrintluanga Chawnglut (23’, penalty) and Mohammed Rafi (49’). The win sends Bengaluru three points clear of Ozone FA at the midway point in the zonal phase.

After a dominant start to the first half in what was their first away game of the campaign, striker Akashdeep Singh broke the deadlock for the Blue Colts in the 11th minute, scoring with an overhead kick from skipper Lalrintluanga’s corner. Twelve minutes later, BFC doubled their lead with Lalrintluanga converting from the spot after BFC attacker Robin Yadav was brought down inside the rival box by defender Deepak Vaddadi.

The Blue Colts had two more chances to increase their lead in the final minutes of the first half but Rahul Rajan sent his shot over from Manbhakupar’s through ball before Robin Yadav was denied by the rival custodian Anji A.

Four minutes after the restart, the Blue Colts struck again as Mohammed Rafi’s deft lob went into the goal past a well-advanced ASA goalkeeper. Bengaluru continued to dominate the proceedings and had another goal to show for it as Akashdeep completed his brace with a brilliant solo effort to make it 4-0, a scoreline they would maintain until the end of the game.

Bengaluru FC U18 now play against BOCA Juniors Football School in Round-5 on November 12.
